in using the web-based Member and Meeting Engine to perform database functions,
broadcast mail, maintain meeting postings, and so on. If you have tips,
tricks, or learnings to share with others please write it up and send it to

Logging In

A common message we get from first time log-ins to the Members Site is "I
don’t know my password". We have added some instructions to the log-in
page and to the "lost password" email to let members know that their password
is blank (that is, do not enter anything in the password field) if it is their
first time logging on. After that they can create a password in their

There are two modes of output for the mail function, text and HTML. One
tool which can make your life easier on the HTML front is a good text editor
with HTML features. I have had success with NoteTab Pro,

Cut down those loooong URLs with a free function from
TinyURL. It will take a long
URL and setup a redirect using a nice short URL. It does not seem to be a

We maintain a calendar of events for LRIG as well as other industry
happenings at
/forum/events.asp. It’s a great tool for
advertising your upcoming meetings and determining schedule conflicts.
You have complete control of adding/editing/deleting your postings. It
also allows exhibitors and members to get an overview of LRIG meetings
