LRIG Privacy Policy

The LRIG, its regional chapters, and the affiliate organizations of
ELRIG and the Pacific Northwest Bio/Technologies Alliance and its chapters will never sell or otherwise disclose our member
registration database and mailing list to any third party for the purpose of marketing or
commercial enterprise. We respect your privacy and value your membership and participation
in this group.

That said there are instances when your contact information is disclosed to our vendor
members.

  1. Member contact information is made available in list form to vendors who sponsor LRIG
meetings and events. This list contains only those members attending the given meeting or
event and disclosed only to sponsoring vendors. This is a means of funding the meetings
and the food served at them and allows us to be a dues free interest group. Should you
wish not to be put on the attendance list for a given meeting list you may opt out by
contacting an LRIG officer at the meeting.
  2. The member discussion mailing list and forums are open to vendors therefore when you
post to them your e-mail address may be visible. We do not allow vendors to collect e-mail
lists from these forums but it is something that we have only limited control over. If you
believe that your e-mail was obtained from the list and have been receiving unwanted
e-mail from a vendor or member please contact the list moderator.
  3. Members contact information may be listed on the web site or other documents if they are
presenting at a meeting or are involved in the publishing of FAQ’s and other
activities of the interest group. Again we do not allow vendors to collect these addresses
for mass marketing purposes but we have little control over it. However vendors value
participation in the interest group so please contact an LRIG officer if you believe a
vendor member is collecting address from our web site.
  4. Occasionally a mailing is done by the LRIG in cooperation with another
non-commercial organization such as the Society for Biomolecular Screening (SBS) or
the Association for Laboratory Automation (ALA).  This is done to extend the reach of both parties,
and to benefit both parties.  In these
cases, the mailing is done by the LRIG and the mailing list is not disclosed to the other
    entity.
