FIELD SUPPORT / TECH SUPPORT ENGINEER
PERMANENT FULL-TIME

MDS Sciex is a life sciences company that develops innovative bioanalytical instrumentation. In this newly created position, you will provide Customer Centric service and solutions to the CellKey?Customer Install Base, and contribute to the establishment of a comprehensive Field Service & Tech Support infrastructure for the launch of the new Cellular Dielectric Spectroscopy (CDS) product line.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

You will provide worldwide customers and internal personnel with hardware and software support for the MDS Sciex CDS product line through effective personal, electronic, and telephone interactions. You will support external customers and the scientific community, Marketing, Product Development and Manufacturing internally to ensure service solutions for incoming queries. This requires referencing extensive product and application, documentation, consulting with experts within or outside of the department and relying on product and application knowledge.
The successful candidate will interact with members of other departments to report design, reliability, documentation and maintenance issues. You will be involved in the provision of Worldwide Service Support with responsibility for helping to coordinate these efforts externally and internally. Along with understanding parts/service related issues that effect the CellKey?Field Support group. You will also provide diagnosis and service support for the European customers and demo labs, with respect to spares inventory and stock evaluation and attend CellKey?support meetings once per month. Travel and flexibility will be a major component of this role, as you will be asked to work in various countries, sometimes with very short notice.

QUALIFICATIONS:

?Ideally 5 years hands on experience in a field based technical service and support related field including 1 year hands on experience with capital biotechnology products.
?Bachelor/Masters Degree in Life Science, Molecular Biology, Genetics or related fields. Alternatively similar qualifications in an engineering discipline or related work experience will be considered.
?Knowledge of a biotechnology product line is an asset, as well as strong knowledge of a scientific instrument production organizational structure.
?Experience with relating to other companies and customers in a service support capacity is preferred.
?Excellent communication and presentation skills required.
?Strong detail orientation and demonstrated initiative.
?Demonstrated responsibility for coordinating the shipment, installation and maintenance of instruments globally.
?Demonstrated ability to build strong working relationships both internally and externally to the business.
