The Compound Management of AstraZeneca? Discovery Enabling Capabilities and Sciences (DECS) Organisation is responsible for the central compound management facilities and operations based at Alderley Park, which include state of the art automation systems and processes for compound storage, handling and dispensing to support and impact on drug discovery projects in the AstraZeneca global discovery organisation. Currently, we are looking for an individual to lead the DECS Compound Management teams.

Accountabilities/Responsibilities

The job involves leading a significant group of CM staff based at Alderley Park, and the responsibilities for the effective, efficient and safe operations of all aspects of compound mangement. Additionally, there are also responsibilities for working with the compound management groups on different sites to define AZ compound management strategy, and develop and implement best practices in compound mangement processes, methodolodies and technologies. Contributing to the strategic enhancement and exploitation of AZ compound collection will also form part of the role.

Minimum Requirements - Education and Experience

The candidates for this position need to have relevant scientific and technical level qualifications, demonstrable expertise and working experience in the relevant areas of a drug discovery research environment. The individual will be collaborating with a number of scientists and teams in different research functions and locations of AstraZeneca? global discovery organisation. It is important for the candidate to have strong personal quality, particularly in innovation, leadership, track record in delivering results meeting business needs, and stakeholder management.
