Scientist, Molecular Technology and HT Processes

Codon Devices is seeking an innovative and highly motivated molecular biologist to join the Process Development group, as a Senior Research Associate, or Scientist, to build the next generation DNA Factory. This interdisciplinary position will develop new techniques, assays and automation for low-cost, high throughput gene synthesis

The candidate should have a deep desire to develop new skills, a proven record to deliver on projects, and ideally a background in high throughput liquid handling (such as Tecan, Beckman or Velocity11), analysis automation (HPLC or electrophoresis), or computer programming. In addition to several years of molecular biology experience, understanding of and desire to work with the most advanced tools in the industry is highly desirable.

Responsibilities:

- Work with the Process Development team to create new protocols for the production pipeline.

- Create new DNA assembly methods, and develop assays for their improvement.

- Pursue advanced technologies, such as multiplexed, ultra-high throughput oligonucleotide synthesis, sequencing and microfluidics.

- Be equally comfortable at the bench or the keyboard.

- Organize and analyze high throughput data with tools such as Excel, JMP and SAS. - Create data-driven plans and goals for future development that may require significant resources.
