Scientist: Screening and Compound Logistics

Lectus Therapeutics Ltd is a UK-based drug-discovery business, specialising in the discovery and development of next-generation ion channel modulator drugs for urinary incontinence, pain and angina. Its strategy is to exploit the power of its proprietary functional proteomics platform, LEPTICS?(Leveraged Enabling Proteomics Technology for Ion Channel Screening) for identification of novel therapeutic candidates that work by affecting ion channel function.

We currently have a vacancy for a Scientist within our Assay Development and Screening Team based at Babraham Research Campus, Cambridge. The successful applicant will be responsible for running high throughput screens, maintaining the compound library and the associated databases. Experience of screening or profiling to support ongoing chemistry programmes in an industrial environment would be an advantage as would experience of compound management and Activity Base. The successful applicant will probably have a good degree in a relevant subject, two years industrial experience, be very willing to learn and a flexible approach, but above all a drive to achieve high quality results delivered in a timely manner. Experience of protein-protein interactions and/or ion channels is not essential but would be an advantage.
