Diverting the Spambots

The spammers have ramped up their attacks on forums like ours. They use spambots to register and post. To prevent as much as we can of their automated attacks, we are implementing a verification question in the registration process. This reportedly is effective on other sites.

If this step is not effective, our next steps could be email address confirmation and/or image processing (CAPTCHA) during registration.

Pretty funny (and sad) that we have to deal with this negative use of automation!
