Position Title: Technical Director High Throughput Screening Facility

Responsibilities:

The Technical Director of High Throughput screening (HTS) will manage the Marian Ware Drug Discovery Program HTS group, working in conjunction with the Center for Neurodegenerative Disease Research (CNDR) at the University of Pennsylvania. The Director will have the interpersonal skills required to communicate effectively with a first rate scientific team. The individual will provide critical input into the design, development and execution of HTS assays. The Technical Director of HTS will also be responsible for the deployment and integration of appropriate automation systems for increasing screening volume, and bringing drugs to clinical trial testing.

Position Requirements:

A PhD and experience in neurobiology and neurodegenerative disease research, coupled with a strong background in chemistry, and a minimum of 5 years experience with HTS. The candidate should have 1) a command of omplex?screening; familiarity with assay design, development and implementation; 2) a strong grasp of automation; and 3) key issues surrounding HTS. An understanding of compounds and compounds management, with a working knowledge of HTS enabling software, and a results-oriented, strategic approach to drug discovery is required.
