SUMMARY

Provide business momentum, helping drive the sales process by adding credibility to Caliper’s/Zymark’s position as a value added solutions partner for drug discovery. The relationships this person will build with the lab management and their staff will position Caliper/Zymark to:

 Work with client to perform a needs analysis of the client’s current situation and assess the project goals and objectives.
 Act as a technical advisor to our clients. Apply technical expertise in drug discovery science technology to help our clients through microfluidic’s and automation.
 In addition to specific customer’s situations, participate in technical meetings, seminars and other forums, presenting papers and strategies, building Caliper’s/Zymark’s image as a global solutions provider in drug discovery.
 Provide Caliper/Zymark input, which will be used to enhance our business position.
 Set client’s expectations as to what is realistic to expect from the overall project scope and concept. The specific details of the technical solution will be addressed in the project kickoff.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Masters or Ph.D. in a Science discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience. At least three (3) years experience with high throughput automated assays (ELISA, cell based, heterogeneous and homogenous). Experience with automated genomic and proteomic procedures. Applications depth in the drug discovery process. This would include specific expertise in one or more of the following areas: Screening and Assay Technology, Molecular Biology, Enzymatic Assays, Combinatorial Chemistry, Structural Characterization, Compound Preparation and Data Management Strategies. Must possess excellent communication, presentation skills and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with our clients. Negotiation skills required to appropriately set the client’s expectations. Candidate should have knowledge of competitive products and strategies. Previous sales experience a plus.
