Position: Associate Scientist

Responsibilities

This individual will be part of the automation team in the Compound Management and Automation group. Primary responsibilities will be servicing the equipment for our Automated Compound Management System as well as high throughput screening systems. This includes system setup, routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair work. The candidate will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team including laboratory personnel, automation scientists, and screening scientists. The candidate will also play an important role in identifying and evaluating new instruments and technologies.

Qualifications

A B.S. degree or equivalent in an engineering related field, and/or 3+ years of laboratory instrumentation service experience is required. Previous experience with compound management/screening instrumentation (robots, liquid handlers, readers, etc) is essential. Experience with fully automated robotic system is preferred. Knowledge of the drug discovery process would be highly desirable. Understanding of Computer-instrument interfacing would be a plus. Programming skills in Visual Basic, C++ is helpful. The successful candidate must be mechanically and electronically emphasized, and service oriented. Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills in English are essential.
