A client of ours in Morissville, North Carolina is seeking a Senior Scientistharmacology, Secondary Assays.

This position will play a key role in our Lead Generation and Progression group that is responsible for compound characterization and project progression. We develop and implement high throughput screens as well as design, develop and conduct assays to characterize compounds for progression in internal as well as external projects. Compound management and data analysis are key functions within our group.

Responsibilities:

Evaluate, recommend, develop and conduct assays for medium to high throughput secondary screening and compound characterization.
This position entails substantial lab work as well as the potential for supervision of associate level scientists.
Contribution to overall research strategies will be expected.

Qualifications:
Degree in Biochemistry, Pharmacology or a related field
PhD with post graduate experience involving assay development
MS/BS with 6/8 years of assay development experience, preferably in the pharmaceutical or biotech field
Broad experience in assay development including GPCR, kinase, and ion channel based assays
Demonstrated knowledge and successful application of pharmacological principles
Experience operating and programming liquid handling instrumentation and robotics preferred.
Experience in automating cell-based assays.
Experience with data management.
Ability to work effectively on a team to meet required deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Track record of successfully coordinating multiple priorities under tight timelines; ability to work effectively with different functional groups.
Excellent written and oral communication skills and strong interpersonal skills.
