Brief Purpose of the Position:
Provides engineering support for drug discovery process automation.

Job Responsibilities:
Will provide technical leadership for development and maintenance of laboratory automation systems and workstations. Additionally, may be responsible for contributions to process engineering and re-engineering.

Education:
BS (MS preferred) in an engineering discipline. Electro-mechanical preferred. Chemical Engineering background helpful also.

Technical Competencies:
Autodesk Mechanical DesktopTM (AutoCAD) or InventorTM. Familiar with Electronic Document Management or Product Data Management systems. Minimum 5, preferably 10 years experience in laboratory automation systems design and development. Familiarity with the following desired: drug discovery and development processes are a strong advantage for the candidate, LabView, Visual Basic 6.0.

Work Habits:
The ideal candidate will be comfortable managing multiple projects and working in a matrix environment. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written are required. Demonstrated effectiveness in a team environment. Must welcome and be adaptable to change.

Track Record:
The ideal candidate will bring a history of successful implementations of laboratory automation systems; and/or a demonstrated ability to assess processes, recommend and implement continuous improvements.
