Harvard UniversityDuties And Responsibilities:
An experienced laboratory research assistant is needed to provide support to the instrumentation facility in the Bauer Center for Genomics Research. This individual will be responsible for lab supervision and training of Harvard researchers on many of the Center's instruments: including high pressure liquid chromatography, mass spectroscopy, and liquid handling robots. Additional responsibilities will include: providing technical support to researchers, troubleshooting and maintaining the instruments, creating and maintaining user and instrument maintenance databases, and writing SOPs.
Required Education:
A BS degree in Biology, Chemistry, Molecular & Cellular Biology, or Engineering and at least three years of experience in laboratory research is required. Prior experience with genomics/proteomics instrumentation, analytical and preparative HPLC of biomolecules, and mass spectroscopy is strongly preferred. The selected candidate must be able to work independently, be self motivated, have a willingness to learn new techniques, have strong interpersonal and communication skills, and have mechanical aptitude.
