BioFocus is a leading provider of drug discovery services. We are looking for senior scientist with several years?experience in High Throughput Screening. We run screens on a range of state of the art platforms including fully automated Zymark and Robocon systems in addition to semi-automated workstations (e.g. PlateMate plus, Packard MiniTrak, Tecan Genesis). Our high throughput Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy system is the first of its kind.

Experience with radiometric, luminescence and fluorescence platforms (including fluorescence intensity, time resolved fluorescence and fluorescence polarisation) is desirable. Experience with ion channel screening technologies would be advantageous. Additionally, you must have experience of managing small teams in an industry environment, and be as comfortable working in the lab as you are in attending client meetings.

The Screening Group is busy and highly productive, and you must be able to demonstrate a record of working to deadlines and achieving high quality results. You must be a î™…ompleter/finisher? with a strong need to complete projects within the agreed timescale. You will be using Activity Base for data analysis; whilst full training will be given, you must be able to demonstrate a high level of attention to detail and be comfortable with the routine nature of this part of the job. Excellent communication skills are essential, as the post will involve working closely with many specialised scientific groups both within the company and with clients.
