Company provides comprehensive cGMP research and analytical services to the pharmaceutical, specialty, industrial, and fine chemical industries in the characterization and chemistry of solid materials. This organization helps the pharmaceutical industry clients accelerate the pace of drug development and improve the quality of the drugs that they offer to the world.

Please note this is a newly created position and the person would become the expert within the organization. Will be, for the most part, self-directed.

Specific Job Duties
Design or create high throughput robotic tools. Purchase equipment parts or whole pieces of equipment. Physically install equipment (with the help of manufactures in some cases). Validate processes. Train people to use the equipment. Set up a maintenance program and implement it or train others to maintain the equipment.
Talents and Special Skills
Knowledge of solid-state pharmaceutical research would be very helpful. The type of processes that need automating are: Co-crystal screening for solvents, Salt screening, Solubility determination, Testing conditions to generate crystalline materials from amorphous, Capillary screening, Polymorph screening, Ultrasound screening, Melt methods.
Education and Training
Education could be just about anything in the sciences but more than likely it should be:
BS Chemistry, BS Chemical Engineering, BS Mechanical.
The critical factor is work experience. The person needs to have designed, installed and maintained research lab robotic systems preferably in a pharmaceutical research environment. Our initial emphasis is on liquid handling systems. The person must be able to train others on the operations and maintenance of the equipment.
Must be a highly motivated, self-driven, creative, have strong understanding of assemblage of robotic equipment in fast paced setting.
