Job Title: Field Application Scientist

Required Skills
* Extensive understanding and experience with key High Throughput Screening
(HTS) markets and targets, biochemistry and assays - kinase, GPCR, protein-protein, other receptors
* Experience with various detection techniques and platforms ?fluorescent
polarization, FRET, ELISA, Delfia, Flashplate, SPA, others
* Equipment and assay support into the Lead ID, Target ID/Validation, Lead
Validation/Optimization processes of the drug discovery & development process
* Good data analysis and presentation skills, English language with second
language being an asset
* Extensive biochemical, cell-based assays, HTS hands on assay experience
* Demonstrated customer resolution, training and problem solving skills
* Extensive understanding of DDD technologies and applications
* Hands-on experience as an HTS end-user

Desired Skills
* Additional languages other than English (German, French, Spanish)
* Ability to perform technical selling to drive customers to adopt new applications and plan for instrument purchase


Soft Skills {Communication/Team/Leadership}
* Demonstrated network of industry contacts
* Takes initiative and is curious about what is next, while able to complete task at
hand
* Logical decision-making skills
* Able to work as a team as well as individually
* Able to present him/herself and technical data to customers

Hours of work/work schedule/flex-time:
* 8 ?5 Monday ?Friday; In-depth product training in Corning, NY for up to 3 months; Field-based role, West Coast preferred.

Travel Requirements:
70% ?may include limited international

Education:
* 4 Yr. Undergraduate degree (Science desired and required ) and MSc or PhD
desired (or relevant work experience)

Experience:
* Minimum 5 years work experience; HTS (Lead ID) operations at pharmaceutical
or biotech company; Assay development for HTS; or 4 years experience working
for industry supplier as a FAS or field based technical support position
