SUMMARY
Responsible for developing, promoting and delivering training products that will support the needs of customers, CLS employee needs and Sub/Rep needs. He/she will coordinate and direct customer and staff development programs for the organization by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The following is a listing of the results/accomplishments expected in performing the job and the job's essential or most important functions and responsibilities by which people achieve the results.

1. Responsible for development of training offerings that will drive Revenue growth for the organization. Assist (Service Marketing Manager) in marketing of training offerings.
2. Confers with managers and supervisors to determine internal training needs.
3. Compiles data and analyzes past and current year training requirements to prepare budgets and justify funds requested.
4. Measures and manages Revenue/Non-Revenue/Internal training delivered to meet defined goals and strategies.
5. Formulates training policies, programs, and schedules, based on knowledge of identified training needs, company production processes, business systems, or changes in products, procedures, or services.
6. Drive staff participation in new product meetings (PDCP) and the provision of all required deliverables to the product team.
7. Selects appropriate instructional procedures or methods such as individual training, group instruction, self study, lectures, demonstrations, simulation exercises, role play, and computer based training.
8. Develop, deliver and market eLearning and other alternative training delivery options.
9. Organizes and develops training manuals, reference library, testing and evaluation procedures, multimedia visual aids, and other educational materials.
10. Trains assigned instructors and supervisory personnel in effective techniques for training such as new employees' orientation, on-the-job training, sales techniques, health and safety practices, management development, and adaptations to changes in policies, procedures, and technologies.
11. Maintains records and prepares statistical reports to evaluate performance of instructors and monitor progress of trainees.
12. Develop and deliver Certification Training courses for all primary products and services. Track performance of trainees and deliver certification documentation as required/when required.
13. Coordinates established training courses with technical and professional courses offered by community schools.
14. Screens, tests, counsels and recommends employees for participation in internal or external educational and training programs.
15. Keeps informed on new developments, methods, tools and techniques in the training field.
16. Conducts essential duties and responsibilities listed in the Technical Training Specialist Job Description as needed.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Directly supervises employees in the Center for Training and Development. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the above listed essential duties satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Must be able to travel 20% of the time.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Master degree (M.S. or M.A.) or Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university required, PhD a plus; 6-8 years experience in a scientific training environment or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Scientific background and/or lab automation training experience a plus. Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and highly skilled in Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Previous responsibility for revenue attainment preferred.
