CellKey (? Field Applications Scientist.
Eastern North American Region
Location: Preferably based in Massachusetts, Pennsylvania or New Jersey.
This position reports into San Francisco, California.

MDS Sciex is a life sciences company that develops innovative
bioanalytical instrumentation. As a CellKey (? Field Applications
Scientist, you will be a key member of the growing MDS Sciex San
Francisco marketing, sales and customer support team. You will be joining us at an
exciting time as we launch our first label-free, cell based screening platform.


GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Work within an assigned Eastern US states and Canadian provinces (TBD) as a member of a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team that includes regional sales representatives, marketing and service professionals, product development scientists and engineers

?Lead and manage field applications support efforts within assigned regional research institutions, biotechnology, biopharmaceutical companies and global pharmaceutical corporations
?Bring critical issues, customer feedback and business opportunities to marketing, service and sales management
?Contribute to the ongoing optimization of the sales process, procedure and policies

FIELD APPLICATIONS SUPPORT RESPONSIBILITIES:

?Provide scientific technical and applications support during the pre and post sales process
?Cooperatively present technical sales and applications related seminars with Regional Sales Representative
?Coordinate and co-manage in house prospect and/or customer feasibility studies, visits and product demonstrations
?Develop long-term collaborative relationships with and between customers, key customer accounts, marketing and product development team
?Provide on site and/or in house customer training courses
?Provide in person, telephone or electronic based product and applications support
?Provide constructive input to service and support personnel concerning customer support efforts, programs and procedures
?Provide team with territory based information concerning critical prospect and customer feedback, drug discovery & screening product trends, emerging technologies and competitor activities
?Professionally represent the business group, division and company including attendance and delivering presentations at scientific conferences and related trade show
?Achieve customer satisfaction and insure successful adoption of technology and products

QUALIFICATIONS:

?Ph.D in Biology/Cellular/Molecular Biology with 3-5 years experience using drug discovery technology, preferable in an industrial setting, or M.S. in Biology/Cellular/Molecular Biology and 5-8 years experience using drug discovery technology, preferably in an industrial setting
?Strong understanding of the drug discovery process and cell biology processes
?Knowledge of the pharmaceutical and drug discovery instrumentation industry, trends and emerging technologies
?Experience conducting experiments and operating instruments utilized in drug discovery screening processes, preferably cell based, high content screening platforms
?Comprehensive ability to review and interpret scientific publications and documents
?Ability to write and present technical reports and scientific publications, ability to produce scientific posters
?Experience working in cooperation with marketing and sales professionals
?Experience supporting customers
?Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
?Key characteristics include: confidence, patience, adaptable, approachable
?Willingness to travel (est. 50-75%)
