Job Description/Responsibilities:
CARRY OUT AND INTERPRET PREFORMULATION STUDIES ON NEW DRUG CANDIDATES TO DEFINETHEIR PHYSICOCHEMICAL AND BIOPHARMACEUTICAL PROPERTIES RELEVANT TO ORAL AND PARENTERAL DELIVERY. PROVIDE EXPERIMENTAL, COMPUTATIONAL, PREDICTIVE INPUT TO DRUGDISCOVERY SCIENTISTS DURING SCREENING OF NEW CHEMICAL ENTITIES, AND ENABLE LEADOPTIMIZATION AND GUIDE CANDIDATE IDENTIFICATION. DEVELOP FORMULATIONS SUITABLE FOR USE IN DRUG DISCOVERY PK STUDIES AND INITIAL TOXICOLOGY STUDIES. INDIVIDUAL IS RESPONSIBLE FOR RECORDING, EVALUATING, ANALYZING AND INTERPRETING THE EXPERIMENTAL DATA.
Job Requirements:
B.S OR M.S. IN CHEMISTRY, PHARMACY, BIOCHEMISTRY WITH 15 OR MORE YEARS OF INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE IN CHEMISTRY OR BASIC PHARMACEUTICS. KNOWLEDGE OF BASIC CHEMISTRY AND PHARMACEUTICAL PRINCIPLES IN UNDERSTANDING THE PHYSICOCHEMICAL PROPERTIESOF NEW DRUG ENTITIES. HANDS ON EXPERIENCE WITH ROUTINE ANALYTICAL INSTRUMENTATION, SUCH AS HPLC, DSC, TGA, UV SPECTROPHOTOMETER, ETC. STRONG UNDERSTANDING OF PREFORMULATION ASPECTS FOR NEW CHEMICAL ENTITIES IS PREFERABLE. GOOD WRITTEN ANDVERBAL COMMUNICATION AS WELL AS HAVING GOOD INTERPERSONAL SKILLS AND BE AN EFFECTIVE TEAM PLAYER. KNOWLEDGE ON USE OF COMPUTERS AND STATISTICS.
