Our client located in south Charlotte, NC is seeking a Chemical Engineer to join their team as a full-time, salaried associate!

Direct Hire: between $60K and $75K

Required Education and Experience:
Bachelors Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering,

Minimum 8 years manufacturing experience in chemical operations

Experience in managing production / operations

Experience managing and controlling budgets

Special Training or Competence:

Catch chemical process experience

Knowledge of Delta V control

Knowledge of Photomer chemistry and the handling of Acrylic Acids and Urethenes would be an advantage

Proficient in Microsoft Office software, SAP experience preferred

Position Responsibilities:
The incumbent is responsible for the day to day operation of his / her department.

This includes, but is limited to, ensuring continued safe operation of all department units, continuous improvement of the operation that leads to improved First Pass Quality of product, improved cycle times and reduced waste.

Working with the Manufacturing Director, technical department, shift supervisors and plant operators, the incumbent would also be responsible for introducing plant and process changes leading to continuous improvement as well as the introduction of new products for manufacture.

Oversee compliance of Safety and Environmental efforts within area of responsibility.

Interact with technical, QC, engineering, R&D; and maintenance to develop or modify the production process to improve quality and/or reduce costs.

Investigate incidents of non-conformance and implement corrective actions.

Coordinate process improvement and troubleshooting activities.

Update and maintain manufacturing procedures.

Provide technical support to operations personnel.

Provide necessary training to improve employee skills.

Assist in preparing department budgets, utilization, manpower and goals.

Maintain safety and housekeeping standards.
