High-Throughput Screening (Lab Automation)

CombinatoRx, Incorporated (www.combinatorx.com) is a biopharmaceutical company focused on developing new medicines built from synergistic combinations of approved drugs. In less than five years, we have discovered and advanced into clinical trials a portfolio of seven product candidates targeting multiple immuno-inflammatory diseases and cancer, at a total investment, including development of our proprietary screening technology, of less than $50 million.


We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to join the CombinatoRx high-throughput screening core facility as an automation specialist. The core facility supports all Research & Discovery programs using state-of-the-art automation and our proprietary cHTS platform for the discovery of multi-target therapeutics. CombinatoRx is currently focused in the areas of oncology, inflammation, metabolic disease, and neurodegeneration.

Primary responsibilities:
 Provide experimental support to discovery programs including: running and maintaining automation equipment, execution of screening experiments, and assisting with cell-culture to support screening efforts.
 Responsible for experimental data processing, quality-control analysis, and report generation.
 Work collaboratively with project teams to facilitate the development, optimization, and execution of high-throughput screens.
 Opportunity to expand responsibilities based on ability.

Essential Qualifications:
 BS degree in a life science
 Strong analytical skills and able to creatively solve problems as they arise
 Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task

The preferred candidate will have 2 or more years of industry experience and/or prior experience with mammalian cell-culture. Experience with robotic liquid-handling systems and information management software in an industrial HTS setting is highly desirable.
