Protedyne currently offers a wide variety of high-throughput automation solutions including systems configured for Functional Genomics, Drug Discovery, Proteomics and Molecular Diagnostics. Our flexible BioCube System platform brings more efficiency and productivity to our customers.
We have an immediate opening for an Automation Test Engineer in Connecticut.
Reporting to the Customer Care Department, the Automation Test Engineer will support Protedyneî–¸ internal customers by verifying the proper operation of automation equipment as it is assembled on the manufacturing floor. This person will have direct interaction with Manufacturing, Engineering Design, Software Development, and Applications Engineering. Specific responsibilities include:
?Loading and configuring software
?Testing individual hardware components as they are assembled, as well as testing the interaction between components on fully completed systems
?Teaching robot locations and paths using application level software to create basic test protocols and validate system configurations
?Performing robotic pipette tool validation procedures
?Traveling to customer sites to assist in the installation and bring-up of robotic systems
?Preparing robotic systems for trade shows and customer visits
Requirements include a minimum of a 4 year technical degree, preferably in Engineering or a Life Science, and formal training in computer programming with 2 ?4 years specific hands-on experience in programming and troubleshooting automation equipment. Solid programming and troubleshooting skills are critical. Must be self motivated, solution oriented, and able to work effectively in cross functional groups. Must enjoy and be comfortable with interacting directly with customers. Experience with Adept robot controllers, specifically V+ and AIM programming is a plus. Knowledge of automated liquid handling equipment also a plus. Estimated travel is 10 ?25%.
