Minimum Requirements:
Robotic Technologies:
Optimization and transfer of cellular assay technologies to high throughput robotic systems
The complete understanding of hardware and software parameters associated with the commercial and custom robotic platforms
Experience in programming commercial laboratory robotic platforms
An understanding of hardware design and material components is a plus
Experience in applications development using VB.NET, VB 6.0 or C++ would be a significantly valued addition
Micro Array technologies and instrumentation
Data analysis technologies and utilization of scientific databases

Assay Development/Drug Discovery
Assay development and optimization for cell based systems leading to medium to high throughput assay processes.
Optimization and development of cell-based assays using different techniques, including various proliferation readouts, luminescence, ELISA and other antibody-driven formats ultimately leading to candidate selection.
Participate in development of novel approaches for analyzing cellular parameters and creation of novel assays
Maintenance and passage of cell lines, transfections and clonal selection
Subcellular and micro array imaging technologies and procedures

Details:
The MMPD Center of Excellence for Drug Discovery (CEDD), department of Oncology Biology, has an exciting opportunity for an exceptionally talented individual at our Collegeville, PA location. The successful candidate will be will be faced with the challenge of working with a multidisciplinary team in the environs of cell biology, laboratory automation and instrumentation software (VB) development, assay development and optimization. This position will require a good working knowledge of cell culture techniques. The ideal candidate will also have a familiarity with data analysis processes and packages including scientific databases. A definite lus?would include software development experience in VB.NET, VB 6.0 or C++.
