Hello,

My name is Elizabeth Jolissaint and I am a contract sourcer with St. Jude Medical in Sylmar, CA ( a suburb of Los Angeles) . St. Jude specializes in the design and development of cardiac management devices such as pacemakers and defibrillators. We were recently named by Fortune Magazine as one of the top 5 most admired medical device companies. We are currently seeking a mid to senior level Software Engineer with firmware experience (OOD/modeling a plus). Knowledge of C++, Assembly, an RTOS and OOD skills who has strong interest working in the biomedical field is required. Preference is for MS in CS graduate with at least 5+ years work experience. Firmware Development Engineer (Firmware & OOD Modeling)

Interfaces with other engineers and the research department in the development of the requirements, firmware interface specifications, plans, object oriented designs, implementations of source code, test cases, tools, and resolving problems. Will be working primarily on Object Orientated Design and modeling. Must be skilled in both. Experience with firmware is essential with xUML a big plus. Reviews project deliverables such as source code for feasibility, thoroughness, clarity, correctness, and accuracy. Work requires the application of theoretical principles, evaluation, ingenuity and creative/analytical techniques. Follows a structured development process and consistently maintains high quality standards. Communicates task status to management and ensures changes are incorporated into projects. Exchanges technical information with the Clinical, Quality Assurance, Technical Support, Software Verification, and Hardware groups. Must be able to handle frequent requirement changes.


Required skills:

Interest in software design to enhance medical devices
2 years of assembly language programming experience
3 years firmware development experience
3 years of Object Oriented Design and Analysis / UML / C++ experience
2 years of software modeling experience
2 years of Real-time embedded system
Software debugging experience
Detailed oriented
xUML methodology experience a plus
Knowledge of cardiac physiology and electrophysiology a plus
