We have an exciting career opportunity in the development and application of bioassays to study vaccine activity. The candidate will be responsible for the development and application of high-throughput array-based biological screening to support our FNIH funded program to identify more stable vaccine formulations for the Developing World. The candidate will be a member of a cross-disciplinary scientific team and will be responsible for achieving key program milestones. In addition, the candidate will be responsible for both formal and informal communications to both internal personal as well as external reviewers and advisors.


Responsibilities:
Primary responsibility for successful design and execution of high-throughput array-based biological screening for quantitation of viral activity; Development and formalization of validated assay protocols that meet or exceed critical thresholds for sensitivity, precision, reproducibility and robustness; Evaluate alternative analytical approaches including optical detection methods for use in quantitating viral titers; Responsible for working within a multi-disciplinary team and communicating scientific results; Lead evaluation of new opportunities to apply high-throughput biological screening to other strategic programs within Transform Pharmaceuticals.

Qualifications:

Ph.D. in Biological Sciences with a post doc and an additional minimum of 2 yrs. industrial experience; Direct experience in leading bioassay development/screening within industry;

Background in virology, vaccines development or high-content screening preferred; Track record of success in both academic and industrial environments; Must be an innovative, self-motivated, team player with strong communication and organizational skills who thrives in a multi-disciplinary environment.
