A leading supplier of robotic systems and automated solutions used in biotech and pharmaceutical research is in need of a Field Automation Specialist to be based in the St. Louis or Minneapolis / Rochester area.

We are a specialized manufacturer of liquid handling automated systems used in the Drug Discovery process, and in the development of genomic, proteomic, and diagnostic products.

If you are looking for a high-growth, publicly-traded biotech company with a rich product pipeline, this could be the opportunity for you.

With the recent launch of a number of breakthrough products for liquid handling and detection, we have been able to capitalize on more than 20 years of experience as a leader in the customized lab automation field. We are now looking to add a technical sales support professional to work with Key Accounts in the Midwest region.

What You Will Do:

  • Work with customers to help install, maintain and troubleshoot software problems for their customized lab automation systems.
  • Provide software support for this innovative line of liquid handlers and detection systems. This includes assistance in application design, sales demonstrations, product installations, customer training, and post-sale service.
  • Provide significant input in the new product planning process by communicating customer needs back to the Research and Development group.
  • Spend approximately 75% of your time will be spent with industrial accounts (Biotech and Pharmaceutical) and 25% with academic researchers.
  • Projected overnight travel is estimated at 40%.

We develop customized automated solutions to help our clients solve their research problems. Our broad range of innovative platform instruments incorporate proven robotic and liquid handling modules with outstanding flexibility and reliability which enable the automation of a large variety of applications, enhancing throughput and lab performance.

Our rapid rate of expansion means that significant opportunities exist for career advancement and professional development, including sales, new product development and marketing.

We are looking for an ambitious individual with the following background:

  • 18 months or more of academic or biotech laboratory experience (Biology, Biochemistry or related field) or in Field Automation Support for a laboratory supplier.
  • Current experience with laboratory robotics or automated systems is a must
  • Experience writing or troubleshooting software for liquid handling systems (this position is directed toward software support rather than hardware)
  • [*]BS degree or better in the Life Sciences or in Computer Science
[*]A willingness to work in a small, entrepreneurial atmosphere where you will be expected to help design customized applications to meet client needs

An attractive compensation package for this position includes an above average base salary and an annual bonus based on corporate and individual performance. A comprehensive benefits package and annual car allowance of $13K is also provided.

This is an entrepreneurial opportunity to leverage your technical and business experience for something more than a simple paycheck.

If you enjoy the challenges and rewards of working with cutting-edge products, and if your background meets these requirements, we want to give you the opportunity to succeed.
