GlaxoSmithKline - Drive the Delivery of Technology

Systems Integrators, Systems Development Team

Our UK Applied Technology Group partners with European R&D; to develop solutions in key areas of laboratory instrumentation and systems integration. Wee now looking to strengthen this unique group and this represents an outstanding opportunity to apply your expertise across a wide spectrum of our business.

Your role will be to manage the delivery of high impact medium to large scale bespoke automation systems, working closely with scientific staff to translate their processes into engineering requirements. You will select and manage external suppliers and ensure compliance with legislative and company safety practices using standard project management tools and formal documentation procedures. You will manage all phases of projects, from evaluation of emerging technologies through to delivery and installation of automation solutions.
With an MSc/BSc or equivalent, preferably in engineering, you should have at least 3 years project management experience with a proven track record in delivering bespoke automated systems, preferably with a scientific content. You will have good technical consultancy skills with a demonstrable ability to matrix manage cross functional teams. (Ref 26006)

We require excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to foster effective working relationships with a wide range of individuals. These are cross sites roles and you will be expected to work at the different GSK sites, primarily Ware, Stevenage and Harlow but with occasional travel to other European and U.S sites.
