Nanostream is looking for dynamic professionals to join a multi-disciplinary team that is changing the world of biotechnology and genomics. We have developed a proprietary process to design and manufacture microfluidic devices more quickly and efficiently than previously possible. We are implementing real-world protocols in our devices and need help to speed this development.

Job Summary
The Senior Applications Chemist will work closely with sales representatives, customers and R&D; to identify applications relevant to the pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical markets. The initial focus will be on a high throughput separations device.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
The Senior Applications Chemist is responsible for:
?Working with product manager(s) and customers, to provide novel, workable solutions to a wide range of technical and customer challenges
?Developing application notes, technical notes and other documentation to assist in sales and support of Nanostream products
?Providing technical leadership on a range of programs and projects, contributing to trade or academic journals and speaking at academic or industry conferences
?This position requires domestic and international travel, estimated at 50%

Skills & Abilities
This individual must have the following knowledge and qualifications:
?Expert in analytical techniques, specifically chromatographic separations, commonly used in pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical companies
?Excellent written and oral communications skills
?Knowledge of the workflow and day-to-day activities in a drug discovery/development company
?Knowledge of current and emerging trends in high performance chromatographic separation applications
?The ability to evaluate and interpret end user information requirements to develop appropriate methods and/or applications
?Ability to work independently
?Ability to work in a fast paced, multi-disciplinary environment to produce commercially viable products

Minimum Qualifications
Education: The candidate should have an MS or preferably a PhD in analytical chemistry, biochemistry, molecular biology or related field.
Professional Experience: 5 to 10 years of experience in applications development.
