  • Sales Account Manager, West Coast
  • Description:

  • In-house (some field sales) sales/support representative for academic accounts.
  • Location:

  • Based out of Taunton, MA.
  • Responsibilities:

  • Sales of new & pre-owned laboratory instrumentation to west coast accounts in North America (U.S. & Canada).

  • New lead generation.

  • Territory/account management.

  • Product/Technical support & customer service.

  • Provide On-site & in-house product demonstrations.
  • Product range:

  • Lab Automation Products, High-Throughput-Systems, Detection Systems (microplate readers/Imaging), Centrifuges, Analytical Equipment, General Lab Apparatus, & Consumables.
  • Income:

  • Salary & Commission (Salary is commensurate with experience).
  • Territory:

  • Western United States & western Canada (AZ, CA, CO, ID, MT, ND, NM, NV, OR, SD, UT, WA, WY, BC, AB, YK, SK).
  • Requirements:

  • B.S. in Biomedical Engineering/Chemistry/Biology, or other related fields.

  • Proven experience in selling capital equipment.

  • A minimum 2-3 years of industry related sales or support experience.

  • Training in laboratory sciences and/or life sciences.

  • General product knowledge.
  • Additional skills/experience desired:

  • Experience in laboratory/research instrumentation use & applications.

  • Knowledge of commercial/clinical/research laboratory procedures.

  • Experience in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Illustrator/PhotoShop/Image Ready/PageMaker helpful.
  • Additional:

  • Candidates must be well organized self-starters that are able to grasp both sales/marketing and technical issues (he big picture?. Good verbal and written communications skills are needed and the ability to work well under pressure. The candidate must be available for travel domestically up to 25% of the time.
