  • Sales Account Manager, Academic Group
  • Description:

  • In-house (some field sales) sales/support representative for academic accounts.
  • Location:

  • Based out of Taunton, MA.
  • Responsibilities:

  • Sales of new & pre-owned laboratory instrumentation to all academic accounts & affiliates in North America.

  • Sales of service & maintenance programs to academic accounts in the northeast.

  • New lead generation.

  • Territory/account management.

  • Product/Technical support & customer service.

  • Provide On-site & in-house product demonstrations.
  • Product range:

  • Lab Automation Products, High-Throughput-Systems, Detection Systems (microplate readers/Imaging), Centrifuges, Analytical Equipment, General Lab Apparatus, & Consumables.
  • Income:

  • Salary + Commission (Salary is commensurate with experience).
  • Territory:

  • All academic related accounts in North America.
  • Requirements:

  • B. S. in Biomedical Engineering/Chemistry/Biology, or other related fields.

  • Experience in selling capital equipment.

  • A minimum 2-3 years of industry related sales or support experience.

  • Training in laboratory sciences and/or life sciences.
  • Additional skills/experience desired:

  • Experience in laboratory/research instrumentation use & applications.

  • Knowledge of commercial/clinical/research laboratory procedures.

  • Experience in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Illustrator/PhotoShop/Image Ready/PageMaker helpful.
  • Additional:

  • Candidates must be well organized self-starters that are able to grasp both sales/marketing and technical issues ("the big picture"). Good verbal and written communications skills are needed and the ability to work well under pressure. The candidate must be available for travel domestically up to 20% of the time.
