Position Summary:
Responsible for coordinating and managing software validation and quality control activities and technical staff. Required to represent the department and administer system strategies that relate to the overall company business plans.

Essential Functions
1. Leads and develops direct reports to meet company, department, and individual objectives.
2. Promotes, represents, and shares knowledge and experience with company, customers, and industry partners.
3. Identifies and approves technologies to meet current and anticipated business requirements.
4. Responsible for the maintenance and continual improvement of the software development processes for the global IT organization.
5. Ensures development of project plans, evaluates risk assessments, and coordinates resources to meet expected company and department deliverables.
6. Evaluates staff performance as required by performance system.
7. Ensures compliance with company development methodologies and processes to meet regulatory requirements and good business standards.

Nonessential Functions

8. Participates on department management team and collaborates in accomplishing defined initiatives.
9. Screens, interviews, and selects personnel for department positions.
10. Facilitates education to increase awareness and understanding of relevant technologies and processes.
11. Assists in completion of department budget.
12. Ensures recording of all business related activities in resource accounting system and required status updates to account for hours spent by team and accurate communication to higher level management.
13. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Position Specifications
Required
?College degree in Computer Science, Business, or Health Sciences or equivalent management experience in a technical environment
?Minimum 10 years experience in a technical environment
?Experience managing/supervising personnel
?Experience with generally accepted software development theories and concepts

Preferred
?Experience with object oriented design methodology
