The ideal candidate has 3-5 years experience as a software developer in VB, Java, with at least 2 years experience working in a support/help desk/configuration management mode on either Pharmaceutical/Chemistry and/or finance and CRM systems. The candidate should have experience with full lifecycle project development, as well as working on bug and break/fix, patching, and enhancement tickets. Skills will include strong functional and software system analysis, ability to interface with end users and technical personnel, code debugging, documentation, testing, and deployment planning. On applications systems, and Nautilus and Millennium/Empower LIMS, and domain knowledge in interfacing to chromatography, mass spectrometry, sample management and other instrument systems.

This position reports to the Support and Deployment Manager in the Global Applications IT group. The successful candidate will have the ability to quickly come up to speed on a wide variety of systems, and work with members of other teams in IT and the user community to address and close issues quickly.

?Applications: SD&G;, Coda, Timberline, PeopleSoft (Finance, HR), Cognos, Crystal Reports.
?Technologies: VB, Java/J2EE/JDBC, Web/XML/HTML, SQLServer, Oracle, SQL, stored procedures, shell and batch file scripting. Knowledge of C#.NET, C++, C, SOAP/web services, Unix, win32, shell scripting also helpful.
