EQUIPMENT TECHNICIAN - Torrance, CA

JOB FUNCTION:
The Equipment Technician will be responsible for routine maintenance and troubleshooting of manufacturing equipment and analytical instruments. Developing and executing programs for annual calibration and qualification, including the writing of associated protocols and standard operating procedures.

Analyze requirements for field testing/calibration instruments and spare parts. Maintaining equipment documentation, parts ordering and parts inventory. Developing program(s) for in-house calibration of temperature, pressure vacuum and humidity applications. Backup department manager in troubleshooting other plant related key equipment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Maintain and troubleshoot manufacturing equipment and analytical instruments.
2. Equipment/Instrument qualification and validation.
3. Maintain and improve calibration system, manage schedule and records for in-house and outsourced calibration.
4. Establish in-house calibration for temperature, pressure, vacuum and humidity applications.
5. Report, track and trend instrument/equipment and service history.
6. Follow all regulatory requirements related to the above functions.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assist department manager in troubleshooting other plant related key equipment.
2. Observe and follow in-house Standard Operating Procedures.
3. Follow applicable safety standards and procedures at all times.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. Bachelors?degree in electrical or mechanical engineering, or chemistry.
2. Proficiency with Windows and MS-Office applications.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATION:
1. 2-5 years experience in maintenance.
2. Technical knowledge of analytical instrumentation, process equipment, and all associated applications.
3. Experience with equipment and instrument qualification and calibration.
4. Electronic knowledge and knowledge in the refrigeration field a plus.

SKILLS:
1. Detail oriented with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve equipment problems.
2. Accuracy with precision tools and instruments.
3. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
4. Proficient in reading schematics and diagrams as well as other written material.
5. Ability to independently find solutions.
6. Self-motivated, willing to seek opportunities in other related areas.
