Group Leader/Associate Director, ScreeningDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
?Primary responsibility of this position is the development, refinement, and implementation of high-throughput screens to identify new drug candidates
?Hit to Lead Projects
?Assay and screen development and refinement
?Transfer of biomolecular assays from therapeutic area groups
?Direction and oversight of HTS runs on automated platforms
?Analysis and quality control of HTS data
?Supervision and direction of technical staff
?Communication of science in project teams and within the HTS group
REQUIREMENTS
?Ph.D. degree or equivalent in Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field
?A minimum of 5-8 years of industrial laboratory experience, with 3-5 years experience in a screening environment
?Exceptional experience with GPCR research and familiarity with ion channels (CA+ and NA)
?Solid leadership and management skills
?Substantial experience in cellular assay development, fluorescence based assays, database analysis, and performance
?Practiced use of liquid handling work stations or automated HITS systems such as those manufactured by Beckman-Sagian, Hamilton, Matrix, Packard, Tecan, Tomtec, and Zymark
?Strong analytical and computer skills
?A significant record of accomplishment in academic and/or industrial research
?Ability to perform at a high level in a team-based environment
?Excellent verbal and written communication skills
