Genomic Solutions designs, manufactures and sells instrumentation, software and consumables for genomics, proteomics, and high-throughput screening (HTS).
This Holliston, Massachusetts based position involves working closely with customers for pre- and post-sales support, the field sales force and the R&D; departments. The Field Application Scientist will serve as the in-field î™’roduct champion?for the Cartesian brand products, which includes all aspects of support, chemistry, software and applications. Cartesian range includes products for HTS (Hummingbird?for assay assembly) and SynQuad?for low nano-liter dispensing, as well as several new products in development.
RESPONSIBILITIES include:
?Provide all aspects of pre- and post-sales support including seminars, demonstrations, and technical backup on sales calls
?Provide technical expertise and training to customers and the sales team
?Provide technical support to customers
?Manage and direct the development of product applications in coordination with the R & D group and marketing/product management
QUALIFICATIONS:
?Ph.D., M.S. in Chemistry, Biology, Life Science or related scientific field
?Experience with HTS instrumentation and/or low volume liquid handling equipment and software
?Practical experience with a broad road range of molecular biology techniques such as PCR, Q-PCR, SNP genotyping, microarrays, hybridization, etc.
?Critical thinking skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required, as well as the ability to prioritize tasks and timelines.
The position involves a considerable amount of travel to assist customers on the use of our Cartesian brand products.
