AUTOMATION BUSINESS ANALYST

Key Functions:
?Analyze and communicate business requirements for a target business area.
?Use business requirements to design, develop and implement automated systems. Researches and evaluates alternative solutions and recommends system design solutions.
?Manage projects to provide business solutions. Give the project team directions and maintain control of progress, quality and budget.
?Act as a third line of support for automation and instrumentation within the Discovery Technology units in Cambridge, MA including HTS, Compound Management and Compound Profiling.
?Integrate automation solutions with IT solutions to serve the Drug Discovery business needs.
?Investigate new technologies applicable to screening and compound management.
Job Requirements:
?2+ years experience in project management including large projects (budget over $250,000, greater than 6 months in duration)
?4+ years experience in automated/robotic systems including sample storage and retrieval systems, liquid handlers, microplate readers, and screening systems.
?BS or BA in related science or engineering field.
?Ability to coordinate a project team, manage multiple tasks, delegate responsibility and effectively manage deadlines
?Knowledge of integrated robotic systems including mechanical and electrical components and design considerations.
?Ability to consult with customers and analyze processes to gather business requirements. Use requirements to issue a Request for Proposals and conduct a fair vendor selection process.
?Good personal and communication skills. Ability to work well within a team. The individual must understand î™…ustomer focus?and be professional within workplace.
?Individual must be motivated, reliable, flexible and able to prioritize workload.
?Working knowledge of MS Office and MS Project
Desired Skills & Experience
?Ability to travel as required
?PMI training
?Knowledge of Drug Discovery processes including High Throughput Screening, Compound Management and Compound Profiling
?Experience evaluating peripheral instruments and systems used within drug discovery environment.
?Ability and Desire to learn various scheduling, simulation, and design software.
?Knowledge of following instruments/systems are a plus:
o Caliper (Zymark): Sciclone, Twister II, CLARA
o GE: LEADseeker
o MDC: FLIPR
o PerkinElmer: Flexdrop, Envision, ViewLux
o TAP: SelecT, Storage & Retrieval Systems
o TECAN: GENESIS liquid handlers
o Thermo CRS: DM4, F3, Catalyst robotics and Polara
