We are recruiting an Automation Specialist interested in joining a winning team who is dedicated to extending and enhancing human life while working to build the best Discovery Automation group in the pharmaceutical industry.
Responsibilities:
Design and construct laboratory automation solutions, including track based robotics as well as liquid handling workstation based automation, in support of the Drug Discovery community at the Lawrenceville site. Provide hands on electromechanical operational and application and QC support for Discovery Automation instrumentation and robotics installed at the Lawrenceville site, particularly for the Lead Evaluation and Compound Management departments. Assist and enable them to continuously improve their laboratory processes. Keep current with the latest products and methodologies in the lab automation field with an eye towards applying them to the needs to the Lawrenceville scientific community. Manage or coordinate support from the BMS facilities and lab services groups and outside vendors as needed.
Requirements:
BA or BS in Biology, Chemistry, Engineering or related field. Three to four years developing and supporting laboratory automation in a pharmaceutical or biotech corporation. Hands on experience configuring, programming and troubleshooting robotic arms and scheduling systems, preferably ThermoCRS Polara, and liquid handling systems, Tecan, Velocity 11, CyBio, Apogent Matrix. Strong computer skills, Excel, relational database usage, SQL, etc. Experience with databases and other informatics tools used to export, manipulate, and interpret data. Must be able to communicate effectively with biologists and chemists. Those with previous work experience as an HTS biologist, combi-chemist or HT analytical chemist are preferred.
