Title: Engineering Director
Reports to: President

The general responsibilites of the Director of Engineering include:
?Defining the company future product portfolio and the R&D; roadmap
?Development of new products in accordance with inputs from the Sales organization, market research and own creativity
?Responsible for all new product development, product validation, and vendor selection
?Technical and marketing support of new products during their launch period

Duties and responsibilities:
?Work with the Sales Department to define the company product development objectives. Conduct further research on customer application requirements and competitive offerings. Using these inputs, create the company product roadmap for the future, including product definition, time and budget plans.
?Lead the company R&D; and Product Management team, currently staffed by three engineers. Personally assume responsibility for key R&D; design projects. Perform associated design work and product validation.
?Coordinate prototype construction. Select component suppliers. Work with Production Department to ensure efficient and timely prototype manufacture.
?Initiate and lead efforts for cost reduction or quality improvement of current products.
?Qualification, selection and management of third-party suppliers of finished goods to be resold by company.
?Coordinate all aspects of new product launches: technical and marketing literature, key customer presentations, pricing structures, sales personnel training, initial production run, etc.

Qualifications
?B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent required
?Minimum of five years experience in design engineering / research & development.
?Management experience required: personnel responsibility, project planning and budgeting.
?Experience in working with machined and molded plastics a plus
?Knowledge of precision-flow fluidic systems in test & measurement instruments handling is REQUIRED
?Familiarity with test & measurement/analytical instruments used in laboratories a strong plus.
?Creative and self-motivated. Able to influence and lead people.
