This position is based at our North Wales Automated Biotechnology Facility.

The successful candidate will be an essential team member in high throughput screening (HTS) activities of the department. Responsibilities include: robotic screening as it applies to intact cell assays using siRNA, robotics programming, and troubleshooting of automated liquid handling /detection instrumentation. In addition, the candidate will participate in the evaluation, development and implementation of novel microfluidic and assay technologies.

Educational qualifications: B.S. or M.S. degree in chemical / bioengineering, biochemistry, bioanalytical chemistry, or a related biomedical science. A minimum of 1 year applicable laboratory experience required. Experience with automation and fluidics (liquid handling) strongly preferred. Tissue culture experience is a plus. Experience with Windows/NT applications programming (e.g. Excel, Visual Basic, Access), are highly desired. As a team member of a small, close-knit group, excellent communication skills and strong self-motivation are required.
