This position is based at our North Wales Automated Biotechnology Facility.The successful candidate will be an essential team member in high throughput screening (HTS) activities of the department. Responsibilities include: robotic screening as it applies to intact cell assays using siRNA, robotics programming, and troubleshooting of automated liquid handling /detection instrumentation. In addition, the candidate will participate in the evaluation, development and implementation of novel microfluidic and assay technologies.
Educational qualifications: B.S. or M.S. degree in chemical / bioengineering, biochemistry, bioanalytical chemistry, or a related biomedical science. A minimum of 1 year applicable laboratory experience required. Experience with automation and fluidics (liquid handling) strongly preferred. Tissue culture experience is a plus. Experience with Windows/NT applications programming (e.g. Excel, Visual Basic, Access), are highly desired. As a team member of a small, close-knit group, excellent communication skills and strong self-motivation are required.
