Company has an opening for a highly motivated hands-on Manufacturing Engineer. In this position, the successful candidate will join a dynamic multidisciplinary team of engineers and scientists in the development, and sustaining engineering of instrumentation systems using Company's proprietary microfluidic technology. The position offers the successful candidate an opportunity to be involved in all phases of product development with strong emphasis on software manufacturing processes and software development for test fixtures. A proven track record in successfully introducing new instrument systems into commercial production is essential.
Essential Duties:
?Develop, implement and sustain product software manufacturing strategy.
?Work very closely with R&D; team to establish product specifications and test plans for both software and hardware systems
?Develop and oversee the Manufacturing Plans for new products and lead the ultimate commercialization of the product in Manufacturing
?Develop and implement software for data acquisition and production test fixtures
?Implement processes for identifying areas of improvement, validating changes, and leading technical investigations
?Monitor product design manufacturability and provide timely and concise feedback and support to R&D;
?Help product application teams meet customer demands by developing prototypes, characterizing key parameters, integrating systems, taking critical measurements, designing and executing validation and verification tests to ensure reliability and functionality
?Troubleshoot prototypes, final product and production processes
?Optimize Product Designs and Specifications to meet performance and manufacturability requirements
?Develop and optimize manufacturing processes to produce parts to specifications
?Key documentation to be created will be Manufacturing Plans, Schedules, Specifications, Test Plans and Test Reports
Qualifications:
Essential:
?B.S. or M.S. ME/EE/Computer Science/Computer Engineering
?4-6 years proven experience in related areas of manufacturing engineering
?Experience in software manufacturing and knowledge of other fabrication and assembling technologies
?Experience developing and implementing data acquisition tools and databases
?Able to produce code for rapid prototyping and integration of hardware for test fixture development and support
?Strong troubleshooting skills
?Excellent communication and documentation skills
?Able to work independently and as part of a cross-functional group
Desired:
?Experience in the biotech or biomedical industry with exposure to customer requirements for system engineering encompassing robotics, barcode tracking, image recognition, optics, etc

Director, Instrument Process & Product Development (RP2003-26W)
Company Manufacturing has an opening for a highly motivated hands-on leader of our Instrument Process and Product Development function. The successful candidate will be a strong technical individual who has the background and ability to take responsibility for the product, process and test development, and sustaining engineering of instrumentation systems using Company's proprietary microfluidic technology. This individual is expected to lead a team in developing and implementing the processes and procedures needed to reliably source, produce, and test our hardware and software system components as well as characterize and optimize these processes.

A proven track record in successfully introducing new products into commercial production is essential This person will be expected to work very closely with R&D; and Production in defining manufacturing requirements and transferring robust and scalable processes into production. This person will be expected to be hands on technically, as well as a good team leader, and will need to communicate regularly across the organization and to the Executive Staff. They will also be asked to take on cross-functional project management responsibilities and demonstrate the effective application of project management methods.
Essential Duties:

Management Tasks:
?Development and manufacturing strategy planning

?Experience in applying a phase product release development process, specifically at the R&D; to Manufacturing interface
?Development and implementation of integrated technology platform system verification and validation strategies
?Strong knowledge of prototyping and volume manufacturing processes and technical skills in product fabrication and testing
?Applications of statistical analysis to analyze, characterize, and troubleshoot processes
Desired:

Product Development Scientist (PW-2003-17W)
This person will be responsible for the commercialization of Company's consumables products. This utilizes project management and scientific skills associated with developing a product from a feasible concept all the way through to full commercialization and product launch. Company's consumables products are disposable devices and reagents used on Company's systems for the Life Sciences.
Essential Duties:
?Project management through commonly accepted development processes and staged checkpoints
?Create and manage schedules, activities and development plans
?Optimization of the product design for manufacturability, ruggedness, system integration and performance
?Development and implementation of manufacturing processes and QC methods
?Setup of Bill of Materials, part numbers, routings and quality criteria in Company's data systems

Sr. Systems Test Scientist (PW2003-17W)
This person will be responsible for the end to end testing of Company's Product System. The role will involve designing, optimizing and executing test methods to measure the performance of the system, to identify failure modes and failure rates. Communicate and drive the resolution of those failures within the development team such that the product meets and exceeds all product specifications and customer expectations. The components that need to be tested are the Microfluidic Protein Crystallization Chip, it's mechanism for performance and it's assembly, the interface of the chip with the Product instruments and reagent components. It will also be necessary to work with the software testers and hardware testers to clearly and quickly identify root causes of system failures.
Essential Duties:
?Development of methodologies from standard analytical methods, life science techniques and material test methods used for polymers and well as the invention of novel test methods related to the product application
?Executing comprehensive tests on the System Components and may require the use of DOEs. Capturing that data in a usable format such as Excel of Access and generating the relevant reports and statistical analysis
?Contribute to new Product Development by initiating and performing product verification and validation studies. Reporting of results to the development team
?Through the systematic testing of the Product System and it's components, establish failure modes and rates and thereby drive corrective actions to ensure the achievement of all performance specifications and customer expectations
?Writing and implementing standard test methods for routine production and product verification
?Data capturing and tracking tools, including identifying and driving the implementation of a LIMS
?Execution of job functions through communication, initiative, innovation and teamwork
Qualifications:
?M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry or equivalent with >5 years relevant industrial experience
?System Test experience of a complete platform, which includes the chemistry, disposable devices and plastics, hard ware and software interfaces
?Knowledge and experience in Life Sciences desirable, specifically consumable device manufacturing, such as arrays or medical devices
?Desired analytical method development experience in the areas of materials and polymer test methods, molecular biology methods and analytical test methods
?Practical experience in material qualification, analysis and method optimization

Project Director (LM2003-13W)
Company develops and manufactures complete systems that revolutionize life-science research through its patented NanoFlex?valve technology. A proprietary process known as Multi-layer Soft Lithography is used to fabricate three-dimensional structures from multiple layers of soft elastomer. Field Technical Support Specialist (KF2003-18W)
Responsible for providing technical support and direction to customers on the operation and maintenance of Company's protein crystallization products, the Field Technical Support Specialist serves as the primary customer contact on technical and service related problems. Qualifications:

?Hardware and chemistry troubleshooting skills a must
?A graduate degree in the Life Sciences is a plus
?Protein Crystallography experience is not required, but is a strong plus
?Special consideration to those with technical/customer support experience
?Product development and/or sales experience in the life sciences is advantageous
