southernresearch Position requires a BS or MS in computer or biological sciences. Extensive programming experience, familiarity with laboratory processes and data generated by an automated laboratory required. Working knowledge of automated microplate instrumentation such as pipetting stations, dispensors, cell-harvesters/washers, and microplate readers is necessary. Good analytical skills, knowledge of good laboratory techniques, good interpersonal skills, and strong communication skills are expected. Responsible for the high throughput assay transfer from assay development teams and managing daily operations of a high-throughput robotics program dealing with the identification of novel drugs and drug leads. Specific job duties include assay development, optimization and validation of high-throughput screens (biochemical, reporter gene and /or cell based assays) of compound libraries on a fully automated robotics system and utilization of a sophisticated database system for report generation and compound tracking.
