Reports to Vice President, Global Sales and Marketing, Cartesian Products
Responsible for the global marketing and development of the Cartesian range of equipment, consumables and software. This position has excellent visibility with senior management as well as Cartesian engineering, manufacturing and finance.

Genomic Solutions designs, manufactures and sells instrumentation, software and consumables for genomics, proteomics, and high-throughput screening (HTS).

This Holliston, Massachusetts based position is responsible for driving the Cartesian range of products for HTS (Hummingbird for assay assembly) and SynQuad for low nano-liter dispensing, as well as several new products in development.


Responsibilities
To drive sales of Cartesian products worldwide by:
o Developing and implementing competitive sales strategies to gain share in existing markets.
o Identifying new market opportunities, then developing applications and implementing marketing campaigns to exploit them.
o Providing market input into the design of new products utilizing Cartesian technologies.

This is a hands-on position that involves a considerable amount of travel working with Customers as well as our own Direct Sales team and ROW Distributors.

Specifically this will entail:

o Penetration of existing markets
- Positioning the current Cartesian products in the appropriate market sectors
- Providing marketing tools for the sales groups to increase sales
- Planning and managing promotional activities, including presentation of papers and posters at conferences, meetings and seminars/workshops
- Developing distributor business through sales and service product training
- Provide technical and sales support to the sales force

o New market development
- Continual scanning and investigation for new applications
- Development and Testing of the Cartesian products in new applications
- Developing and implementing marketing strategies to exploit new markets
- To provide marketing tools for the sales groups.

o Product development
- Contribute market knowledge to the New Product Commercialisation process
- Provide feature specifications for new product development
- Contribute to new product testing, particularly by establishing external beta-sites
- Develop and implement marketing strategies for the lauch of new products


Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have:
?A technical degree (BS/MS/Ph.D.) in Life Science or related scientific field
?Experience with HTS and liquid handling instrumentation
?A background in selling capital equipment into the bio-pharma and academic market
?Critical thinking skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to prioritize tasks and timelines.
