Scientist III ?Biochemistry

This individual will be is responsible for biochemical support and assay development within the Biochemistry group and various project teams. Duties will include collaborating with other colleagues to develop high throughput screening assays; competency with basic enzyme catalysis theory / application, robotic programming, and operation of micro-titre plate liquid handling and multi-mode detection instruments will be needed. Other duties may include purifying proteins; competency with performing / analyzing protein purifications and operation of chromatography instrumentation is required. Duties will also include performing routine enzyme or cell based assays; competency with enzyme catalysis theory / application and tissue culture skills are required. Careful equipment maintenance and recording of all experimental procedures in a precise and orderly manner are required, as well as, written and oral presentation of results to the project team. BS/BA in biochemistry or related field & at least 8 years of industrial lab experience required. Preferred candidates have an advanced degree and/or familiarity with HTS and protein purification.
