Job Description:
SYNTHETIC ORGANIC CHEMIST The job description is as follows: This position requires a minimum of a M.S. degree or B.S. plus 5-8 years experience as a chemist. The candidate must be able to work independently and have excellent written and oral communication skills. Would prefer a candidate with a strong Medicinal Chemistry and Combinatorial Chemistry background as well. - In the high throughput discovery environment, he/she will focus on the synthesis of designed templates for targeted libraries to support therapeutic projects; develop new reaction protocols necessary for the library production; prepare hits from the libraries for further biological evaluation. This position is for a scientist with strong skills and experience in synthetic organic chemistry. The candidate must be competent in all standard organic synthetic and purification techniques such as chromatography, fractional distillation, crystallization and the interpretation of spectra. Experience in parallel synthesis is a plus. He/She is also required to write reaction protocols and research reports, and to present work in a team setting periodically.
