DESCRIPTION: One of San Diego biotech success stories is looking for a Manager of Robotics & Automation. This genomics-based drug discovery and development company is currently seeking an individual to be responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and on-going operation of the robotics and automation of their (HTS) high throughput screening program. This key person will play an important role in accelerating their research process.

As a working manager, you will be responsible for mentoring a team member, as well as setting up, maintaining, and upgrading their robotics systems. Responsibilities will also include the maintenance of their compound libraries, preparation of screening materials, and the design, implementation and maintenance of their web-based request systems. This is a great opportunity to become part of a dynamic team with 11 scientists dedicated to one of our client top research projects.

QUALIFICATIONS:

?3 ? years of experience designing & developing software to control & interface with robots for lab automation (LIMS and HTS) in a drug discovery environment.
?Experience with the integration of robotic systems and workstations. Specific experience working with Perkin Elmer and Qiagen robotics systems would be a big plus.
?Familiarity with programming in VB, Perl, PHP, and Java. Solid experience using MS Word, Excel, Access.
?Proven ability to successfully communicate with scientists to gather requirements for software development projects.

LOCATION: San Diego


COMPENSATION:

MINIMUM PAY: $55K
MAXIMUM PAY: $70K
