XDx, a biotech company in South San Francisco, is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team as we expand our research and development needs and require automated systems. The selected candidate will develop, implement, and support both hardware and software for implementation of research laboratory protocols. Projects will also include VB scripting and integration of automation hardware and software with existing LIMS databases. The candidate will collaborate with system users to define requirements for new systems and/or identify changes to existing systems and implement and test them. The ideal candidate will also be able to transition automated systems to a production setting. This is an exciting opportunity for the right individual to join a rapidly expanding start-up company.

Responsibilities include:
rogramming molecular biology laboratory processes on robotic systems
versight and maintenance of automation hardware.
rovide training for system users
ntegration of automated systems with existing SQL server databases
IMS development and integration with manual laboratory processes

Requirements include:
S/MS in Chemical/Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
?+ years experience design and implementation of laboratory automation control scripts
n-depth knowledge of and technical background in instruments and automated control systems.
ccomplished Visual Basic programming skills
xperience with Beckman Coulter Biomek FX desired
xperience with SQL Server databases desired
