Protedyne currently offers a wide variety of high-throughput automation solutions including systems configured for Functional Genomics, Drug Discovery, Proteomics and Molecular Diagnostics. Our flexible BioCube System platform brings more efficiency and productivity to our customers.

We have an immediate opening for an Applications Engineer in the U.K. Reporting to the U.S. Customer Care Department, the UK Applications Engineer will provide pre-sales and post-sales customer support in the UK and Europe. Duties will include providing technical/applications leadership to the sales effort; providing comprehensive technical information to customers; conducting product demonstrations; supporting the customer by implementing the customer protocol on their system; providing technical assistance during the factory bring up; assisting in Factory Acceptance Tests (in Windsor, Connecticut); executing Site Acceptance Tests; providing help desk support and on-site protocol and application support; as well as setting up for product demos, seminars and trade shows.

Requirements include a minimum of a BS degree (or equivalent), preferably in Engineering or a Life Science, and formal training in computer programming with 3 ?5 years experience in programming and troubleshooting automation equipment. Must be familiar with laboratory automation hardware and software and its application in Pharmaceutical and Biotech industries. Experience with Adept robot controllers, specifically V+ and AIM programming is a plus. Knowledge of automated liquid handling equipment also a plus. Must enjoy and be comfortable with interacting directly with customers. Must have proven demonstration skills and the ability to handle a variety of customer situations including product demos and presentations to large groups. Estimated travel is 30 ?40% (also requires overnight travel). Ideal candidate should live in commuting distance to Cambridge and London.
