Dear FIRST 2006 Competition Participants,
The LRIG (Laboratory Robotics Interest
Group) SouthEast Chapter is a non-profit scientific organization
with a mission to provide a platform and facilitate scientific
exchange of information among the users and providers of automated
and robotic lab systems applied to various branches of science and
education. We are one of eleven chapters around the
US and
Europe. To further investigate LRIG SouthEast, please see our
website at
www.lab-robotics.org/southeast. In addition, please view our home LRIG
website at
www.lab-robotics.org.
The LRIG SouthEast Chapter would like to
congratulate your school robotics club for your participation in the
FIRST Robotics Regional Competition in
Richmond, VA in March, 2006. It is quite impressive that
individuals of high school age have taken an interest in this field
of science. We also appreciate all of the teachers, parents and
mentors in their effort to assist and educate the next generation of
scientists and engineers.
In 2003, LRIG SouthEast Chapter sponsored
a local high school robotics club who were very successful making it
to the National Competition in
Houston,
TX. We would like to expand our assistance to other high school
robotic clubs within our Chapter’s jurisdiction again this year.
With this said we would like to extend the offer to high school
robotics clubs within VA, NC, TN, SC, GA and FL that are registered
for the FIRST Competition in
Richmond,
VA to compete for sponsorship money donated by the LRIG SouthEast
Chapter. If your club needs additional financial support this would
be an excellent opportunity. The sponsorship is divided into two
parts: A sponsorship check in the amount of $750 will be awarded for
the funding of the Regional Competition. If your school robotics
club qualifies and attends the National Competition in Atlanta, GA,
a second sponsorship check will be sent to your school in the amount
of $1250.00.
Please find attached a Sponsorship
Application Form. If you would like to participate in this LRIG
SouthEast Chapter Robotics Club Sponsorship Competition, please
provide your best responses to our questions on the application.
After committee review, the club with the “best” responses will be
awarded our Regional Competition Sponsorship fund of $750.00 made
out to your high school robotics club.
The submission deadline for your completed
Sponsorship Application is
January
30, 2006. LRIG SouthEast will notify the winner by
February 6, 2006 and a check in the amount of $750 will sent to your
provided high school address the week of
February 14, 2006.
We look forward to your completed
application. Again we would like to congratulate you on your
efforts and wish you the best of luck in the LRIG SE Sponsorship
Competition and the FIRST Regional Competition in
Richmond, VA.
Sincerely,
LRIG SouthEast Chapter
