Learning Control of Manipulator

Hi, I have a assembly robot which was constructed in reference to AdeptOne. I made the whole servo software and the servo boards for it. Now I'm want to apply iterative learning control method to improve its performance. The robot's controller is totally open to me: it's designed by myself. The first 2 joints are actuated by direct-drive VR motors. I'm just a new beginner of learning control ( model-based, Arimoto type).

Can anybody discuss with me about the learning controller design?
