Sealing the microtitre plate with various sealing tapes or strips is not always a solution since the adhesives used are not thermostable and peel at the edges, leading to evaporation from the well around the edge of the plate. This can be overcome by using a Heat Sealer with the sealing tape, or alternatively using Microtitre plates with individual lids to seal the wells.
